FirstVet is the first truly digital veterinary clinic. We let pet owners meet with licensed veterinarians via their mobile, tablet or laptop. Our solution contributes to a more balanced and better functioning care process for all parties. By providing a first point of contact for all pet owners FirstVet makes pet care more available, more efficient and more qualitative. The company was founded in 2016 and has now expanded out of its headquarters in Sweden to Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, U.K and the U.S. FirstVet covers nearly seven million pets worldwide.

We launched in Germany in summer 2020 and have now grown to the point where we need a Business Development Manager to join the team.

The role: 

As the Business Development Manager you will have a highly visible role together with the German Country Manager to execute and succeed on our commercial strategy. Your main mission will be to scale the German market presence and growth as well as to identify and execute on new business opportunities in order to reach FirstVet’s aggressive growth targets. 

To leverage within this role and to deliver business quality and add value to both sides, sales and client management is one of your many strengths. Communication and collaborations towards senior executives is another of your outstanding skills. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Build and own relationships, coordinate activity and communications, and be a trusted advisor to our important clients 
  • Representing FirstVet in meetings with partners or regulatory authorities
  • Manage client transactions and oversee support case resolution, leading escalations and solving challenges to achieve client success 
  • Capture and sponsor client needs and roadmap requirements interfacing with our product and solutions engineering teams to find solutions on short- and longer-term
  • Manage our existing clients as well as new ones
  • Managing the onboarding and marketing of partner relationships and assisting in commercial prospecting 
  • Identify cross and up-selling opportunities 

You will be part of the German team and work closely together with the Country Manager and the Lead Vet, and you will also have close cooperation with the operations and management team at HQ in Stockholm.

The position is located in Munich but due to Covid-19 we are currently working remotely. Home office and location-independent work is therefore possible to a certain extent without any problems.

The person we are looking for has:

To be successful in this role, we believe that you are a team player who always strives to deliver outstanding results. You are a self-starter, passionate about building a business from scratch with a strong analytical mindset. You enjoy working in a role where the roadmap is clear but the rest is up to you. You have a get things done mentality, understand the balance between time and cost, and never miss out on quality and delivery. You are also a humble and enthusiastic people-person.

Apart from that we also believe that you should ideally have

  • 2-4 years of working experience in sales, partnership management and/or management consulting
  • Good at commercial and legal negotiations 
  • Ability to navigate and prioritize among a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Strong sales and business acumen 
  • A proactive mindset and hands-on attitude
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have an academic degree in Business, Engineering, Law, or other relevant fields
  • An interest in animals is always nice
  • Fluent in German and English
