Marketing Associate UK

Do you want to take part in changing how pet care is provided worldwide – FirstVet is the right place for you!

Join us in changing how pet care is provided worldwide

FirstVet is the first truly digital veterinary clinic. We let pet owners meet with licensed veterinarians via their mobile phone or computer. Our solution contributes to a more balanced and better functioning care process for the entire pet ecosystem. By providing a first point of contact for all pet owners, FirstVet makes pet care more available, more efficient, and more effective.

The role:

Ever since FirstVet started in 2016 we have been on a journey of rapid growth, and we are not stopping here. FirstVet’s UK business is growing quickly and as a part of that, we are looking to expand the UK team by hiring a Marketing Associate who will play a crucial role in driving forward our marketing efforts in the UK.

As a Marketing Associate, you will join a small UK team and report to the UK Commercial Director, in addition to working closely with our central Marketing team at our Stockholm HQ. You will help create compelling marketing campaigns, inclusive of digital, social, and other mediums, and manage our social media platforms with the goal of driving awareness and conversion for FirstVet.

We are looking for an energetic self-starter and creative marketer who can build relationships across the organisation. You are resourceful, organised, personable, have exceptional attention to detail and quality and have the ability to develop well-defined processes to support effective campaign rollouts.

This is a full-time role based in our London office. The London team currently works remotely, with plans to resume a flexible working arrangement in the future (combination of office and remote). Majority remote, but UK-based, candidates will be considered for this role.

Salary: £30,000 per annum plus excellent benefits package

Your responsibilities:

  • Support marketing campaigns from beginning to end across a range of channels, including digital, social, TV, OOH and more.
  • Own and manage our social media channels, building our online community and driving awareness through engaging organic and customer-created content.
  • Make sure that the UK’s marketing activities support our overall KPIs and drive towards relevant goals for the market.
  • Build relationships with our partner’s marketing teams to work on joint campaigns and initiatives.
  • Work with our designers to ensure our creative assets are built effectively for purpose and gather learnings to improve them.
  • Support in analysing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and help to identify areas for optimisation and improvement.
  • Production of written content such as newsletters and website landing pages, based on yearly content cycle and SEO best practice.
  • Manage and drive relationships with PR and media agencies.
  • Provide project management support to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Keep up with the latest pet sector trends to identify opportunities for FirstVet to enhance its marketing campaigns.
  • Support our in-person marketing activities at events and shows.
  • Having a creative and innovative mindset where you constantly iterate on and improve our marketing.

Who we are:

You will be part of a fantastic group of people who believes that having fun together in a professional environment will build a long-lasting company culture where everyone gives 100%. We are a young and fast-growing start-up, working passionately to build a high-quality service and an expansive global company. We value personal qualities at least as much as background and experiences.

The person we are looking for:

To be successful in this role, you should be a self-starter who doesn’t hesitate to take initiative. You should also have a strong interest in joining an early-stage startup where roles and responsibilities aren’t always narrowly or clearly defined and everyone works across a wide array of functions and responsibilities. You have innovative and creative ideas on how to solve problems and you take action when challenging situations occur. You’re ready to get stuck in, learn on the job and quickly become an integral part of the UK team.

About you:

  • You have a 2:1 or 1st class degree in a relevant subject from a top tier university.
  • You have 1-2 years of relevant marketing / agency experience of supporting marketing campaigns across the marketing mix, but we are flexible to other backgrounds and levels of experience for the right candidate.
  • You love social media and have your own ideas for engaging, shareable content that will drive brand awareness and build our online community.
  • You possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to make decisions and optimise campaign performance.
  • You are proficient in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.
  • You have disciplined time management and organisational skills.
  • You’re a great communicator, possess strong interpersonal skills and can build relationships quickly.
  • You have experience managing multiple stakeholders and are confident in presenting your ideas.
  • You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where you have the opportunity to shape your role within a growing start up.

Desirable qualities:

  • You have an understanding of testing approaches, including A/B tests, and metrics, such as CPM, CAC, CPA, ROI etc.
  • You have experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Tableau, Facebook Business Manager and Adjust.

Apart from the above-mentioned requirements, it goes without saying that an interest in animals is highly desirable. We’re a pet-orientated organisation and it’s not unusual for a dog or cat to join our Zoom calls!

Or, know someone who would be a perfect fit? Let them know!

So, if you like cuddling with dogs, having sea view coffee breaks (at least in the Stockholm office) and want to take part in changing the veterinary industry for the better – FirstVet might be the right place for you!
