The company was founded in 2016 and has now expanded out of its headquarters in Sweden to Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, and the U.K and is now in its initial phase of launch in the U.S. 

FirstVet covers nearly seven million pets worldwide. 

The role: 

As a vet recruiter, you will be responsible for growing our talent from 40+ to 200+ veterinarians. Our veterinarians are the core of our business and recruiting top talent across all our markets is crucial for making sure our service is of the highest quality. As a Global Vet Recruiter at FirstVet, you’ll play a key role in shaping the organization's future by planning, identifying, attracting, and recruiting brilliant veterinarians to our US team but also across our other markets; Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, and the UK.  

Together with your colleagues across our offices, you’ll be responsible for the US recruitment process for veterinarians. Depending on our needs and the season, you will also be recruiting for our other markets and different veterinarian competencies. Apart from driving the recruitment process, you will actively work to improve current structures and processes as well as other areas related to recruitment, such as sourcing and managing contracts. 

This is a full-time position based in our office in New York. During this specific time, we follow the local guidelines and work both remotely and at the office. 

Your responsibilities: 

  • Handling the US  recruitment process of veterinarians from identifying, attracting, sourcing, and interviewing to sign and close candidates. This is done together with the Head of VetOps, our Sweden-based Global Vet Recruiter, and Lead-Vets. 
  • Work closely with our other Global Vet Recruiter and also drive recruitments for other countries when needed. 
  • Ensure that all steps within the recruitment process are of the highest standards
  • Create inspiring job ads for specific needs and seasons 
  • Track and report relevant KPIs 
  • Create and maintain a candidate base of qualified veterinarians
  • Manage our agreement structure and stay on top of regulations in the US together with our legal department

You are an ambitious team player who thrives in a goal-oriented environment and can keep a clear structure when conditions change. You have a creative approach to solving problems and like to do things differently to reach your goals. When things pile up and the pressure is high (because sometimes they will) you can keep calm and focus on the right priorities. 

Apart from that we also believe that you…

  • Have a minimum of 4 years of experience working with recruitment in a high speed and high volume environment 
  • Have a four-year degree within a relevant field
  • Experience working in a veterinary environment is highly desirable but not a must
  • Are fluent in English-other languages are a great advantage

Apart from the above-mentioned requirements, it goes without saying that an interest in animals is highly desirable. We’re a pet-orientated organization and it’s not unusual for a dog or cat to join our Zoom calls!
