FirstVet is the first truly digital veterinary clinic. We let pet owners meet with registered veterinary surgeons (and soon behaviourists!) via their mobile or computer. Our solution contributes to a more balanced and better functioning care process for all parties. By providing a first point of contact for all pet owners FirstVet makes pet care more available, more efficient, and more qualitative.

The role

FirstVet is expanding our service on the UK market and are looking for dedicated Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourists who are passionate about helping pets and pet parents. We’re expanding our service to provide our clients with a digital platform for behaviour advice. This is a new service and you will be an essential part of a new business initiative within an expansive and global company. This role is on a part-time, locum basis.  

Your responsibilities:

  • Receive internal referrals from our experienced vets for first aid behaviour advice
  • Make recommendations based on your expertise regarding behaviour 
  • Based on your recommendations, guide the pet owners to better understand their pets, or refer them on where appropriate 
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to the consultation, for example, written notes to be shared with the pet owners and primary care provider 
  • Assist the Vetops team with writing and publishing a library of feline and canine behaviour articles for our website 

The person we are looking for

We believe that you are a true people-person that wants to help pets and their owners by giving gold standard behavioural advice.  You are able to give clear advice based on the information provided by the pet owners. You are comfortable working in a digital environment and have excellent communication skills. 

Desired qualifications:

  • 3+ years of clinical experience working with small animals
  • Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB, CCAB)  
  • Open to candidates specialising in feline-only or canine-only behaviour
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Highly proficient in English on a professional level
