FirstVet is the first truly digital veterinary clinic. We help pet owners meet with local, experienced veterinarians via their smartphone or computer. The role:

Ever since FirstVet started in 2016 we have been on a journey of rapid growth, and we are not stopping here. FirstVet’s UK business is growing quickly and as a part of that, we are looking to expand the UK team by hiring a Commercial Lead who will play a crucial role in driving forward our growth efforts in the UK.  

As the Commercial Lead, you will join a small UK team of 9 and report to the UK Country Manager, in addition to working closely with our central Partnerships, Tech and Marketing teams at our Stockholm HQ. Your main mission will be to help the UK team scale our existing partnerships success and identify opportunities in order to reach our growth targets. 

No two days will look the same. Representing FirstVet in meetings with prospective or existing partners, managing the onboarding and marketing of partner relationships, coming up with new ways to engage and activate partner customers and assisting in commercial prospecting across the UK are some examples of the broad variety of tasks that lie ahead of you. 

This is a full-time role based in our London office. The London team currently operates a flexible working arrangement (combination of office and remote). 

Salary: £30,000 per annum plus excellent benefits package

Your responsibilities:

  • Support the partner onboarding and relationship management process
  • Represent FirstVet in meetings with prospective partners including delivering presentations, demos, pitches etc.
  • Identify and execute ways to increase activation and utilisation of partners against our KPIs, monitoring key performance metrics on a regular basis
  • Manage the partner reporting, analytics and invoicing processes 
  • Identify and drive business development opportunities which would help FirstVet achieve its growth objectives
  • Work on a variety of documents including external pitches, presentations, due diligence questionnaires and internal ‘best practice’ materials
  • Provide project management support to ensuring simultaneous ongoing workstream deadlines are met 
  • Build relationships with our partners’ marketing teams to work on joint campaigns and initiatives to drive partner customer engagement

The person we are looking for:

To be successful in this role, you should be a self-starter who doesn’t hesitate to take initiative. You should also have a strong interest in joining an early-stage startup where roles and responsibilities aren’t always narrowly or clearly defined and everyone works across a wide array of functions and responsibilities. You have innovative and creative ideas on how to solve problems and you take action when challenging situations occur. You’re ready to get stuck in, learn on the job and quickly become an integral part of the UK team. 

About you:

  • You have a 2:1 or 1st class degree from a top tier university
  • You have at least 1 year of work experience in a startup or growth company environment, professional services or a technology company. However, we are flexible to other backgrounds and levels of experience for the right candidate
  • You have an innovative, creative and commercial mindset 
  • You possess strong quantitative and analytical skills and can present data effectively in order to inform decisions, with a high attention to detail
  • You are very proactive, with an ability to navigate and prioritise different projects/deadlines and are able to own a project from start to finish
  • You enjoy working with a wide variety of individuals, managing multiple stakeholders to build consensus across different types of parties 
  • You possess strong verbal and written communication skills and are confident in presenting your ideas 
  • You have disciplined time management and organisational skills
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Powerpoint and Excel 
  • You are familiar with Google Suite
  • You have experience using data analysis/visualisation tools such as Tableau/Power BI
  • You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where you have the opportunity to shape your role within a growing startup
