E-commerce Coordinator

Join us in changing how pet care is provided worldwide.

FirstVet is the first truly digital veterinary clinic. We help pet owners meet with local, experienced veterinarians via their smartphone, tablet or computer from the comfort of their home, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our game-changing solution contributes to a better functioning care process for the entire pet ecosystem. By acting as a first point of contact for all pet owners, FirstVet makes pet care more available, more affordable, and more effective.

The role:

FirstVet’s UK business is growing quickly and as a part of that, we are looking to expand the UK team by hiring an E-commerce Coordinator who will play a crucial role in the next evolution of growth for our business. As an E-commerce Coordinator, you will join a small UK team and play a key role in launching FirstVet’s pet e-commerce business in the UK.

The role will initially focus primarily on inputting products into our e-commerce platform and writing compelling product descriptions. Once we have launched our e-commerce business, you will wear multiple hats and will be expected to contribute in additional areas including customer support and liaising with our product suppliers and third-party warehouse to ensure our product procurement and supply chain operations run smoothly.

You will report to the UK Head of E-commerce and Strategic Projects and work closely with the UK team to scale up FirstVet’s UK e-commerce business.

This is a full-time role based in our London office. The London team currently operates a flexible working arrangement (combination of office and remote). Fully remote candidates will be considered.

Salary: £21,000 per annum plus an excellent benefits package, including top tier medical and dental insurance.

Your responsibilities

  • Inputting products into our e-commerce platform and managing the product assortment

  • Writing creative and engaging product descriptions for our website

  • Establishing processes for product procurement and supplier management

  • Once e-commerce is operational, supporting the daily operations of the business, including customer support, product procurement and supply chain logistics

  • There can be flexibility for the right candidate to develop their role into other areas of the business, with opportunities to move into customer support or develop into a generalist e-commerce role

Who we are:

You will be part of a fantastic group of people who believe that having fun together in a professional environment will build a long-lasting company culture where everyone gives 100%. We are a young, hungry and fast-growing start-up, working passionately to build a high-quality service and an expansive global company. We value personal qualities at least as much as background and experience.

The person we are looking for:

To be successful in this role, you should be a self-starter who doesn’t hesitate to take initiative. You should also have a strong interest in joining an early-stage startup where roles and responsibilities aren’t always narrowly or clearly defined and everyone works across a wide array of functions and responsibilities. You’re ready to get stuck in, learn on the job and quickly become an integral part of the UK team.

About you:

  • You enjoy building things from the ground up and navigating uncertainty

  • You are a proficient writer and able to produce high-quality, creatively written content

  • You have excellent attention to detail

  • You are personable and able to maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers and other stakeholders

  • You are able to own a project from start to finish

  • You may have previous experience within administration, e-commerce or customer support

Apart from the above-mentioned requirements, it goes without saying that an interest in animals is highly desirable. We’re a pet-orientated organisation and it’s not unusual for a dog or cat to join our Zoom calls (or increasingly - come into the office)! So, if you want to take part in changing how pet care is provided worldwide – FirstVet might be the right place for you!
