FirstVet has been building a digital platform since we started in 2016, aiming to create a world where every pet can thrive, not just survive - no matter the circumstances. In order to facilitate FirstVet’s continuous international growth, we’re reinforcing our tech team with a QA Engineer.

In the QA Engineer role, you will take a holistic view of quality assurance, helping our teams incorporate quality into every step of the agile development cycle and making sure that testing becomes an integrated activity rather than a separate phase. You will drive test automation efforts in collaboration with other engineers as well as independently and make sure that the necessary technologies, tooling, and infrastructure for this are in place. While automation is the role's focus, you will also plan, lead and execute cross-team testing efforts and run exploratory testing sessions when needed.

You will:

• Establish and refine our test automation strategy and implement it in close
  collaboration with the teams.
• Drive and work hands-on with test automation efforts to shorten our feedback
  cycle and enable frequent releases with a low effort.
• Communicate with stakeholders, product managers, designers, and engineers
  to ensure that requirements are clearly understood, articulated and testable.
• Plan, align, lead and participate in cross-team testing efforts when needed.
• Plan, facilitate, and conduct exploratory testing sessions.

You have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience of writing automated tests for both mobile and web clients as well
  as backend APIs.
• Solid programming skills, for example in PHP, JavaScript, Go, Python, Ruby or similar.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of running tests in CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of different types of testing, both manual and automated.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience of planning and running test sessions in an agile environment in close collaboration with engineering teams.
• Full professional proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
