Pet care is changing and Telehealth is becoming increasingly important. FirstVet's vision is to streamline the interaction between pet owners and veterinarians by offering advice and simple initial screening examinations through video meetings on mobile phones, computers and tablets.
The role
FirstVet is growing in the United States and we are looking for experienced veterinarians who are passionate about helping people and animals, and at the same time are ready to try a new, video call based way of working. As a veterinarian at FirstVet you are a key person in the organization and you will be responsible for providing the best possible service to our clients.
Your responsibilities:
- Carry out consultations via video calls with pet owners and their pets
- Conduct video assessments of the pet in question and through communication with the owner, either recommend simple treatments or provide referral to a local veterinary clinic or directly to an ER as needed.
- Provide follow-up of cases through careful record keeping and written feedback to clients
The person we are looking for
To be successful in this role the candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience working in Telehealth a plus but not a requirement, for example consulting over the phone, video chat, etc. Interest in new technology is always appreciated.
Must have:
- 5+ years of clinical experience working with small animals required (ability to triage multiple species is a plus)
- Active US state veterinary license
- Personal Liability Insurance Coverage required, if you have a personal/private policy through your employer this will be sufficient.
- Fluent in English and preferably other languages

This position is entirely remote and an independent contractor position. We offer flexibility with the schedule, work as little or as many hours as you want.
